Ingrid Schneider

Professor at University of Hamburg

I have worked for more than 20 years in technology assessment and have addressed issues of ethical, legals and social issues as well as un/desirable societal impact.

I am highly interested in political-economic models for the governance of data, issues of intellectual property and commons models, and political regulation.

Another concern is privacy/ data protection/ GDPR issues and the role of Europe in advancing just, fair and sustainable data models which can be a reference model for other countries. Antitrust issues and their relationship with data protection is also a topic of interest. Furthermore, I am very interested in exploring the perspectives of countries of the Global South in digitalisation and datafication issues.
